Blue Star PRINT ACT excels at 2010 Page Awards

13 December 2010

Blue Star PRINT ACT, based in Fyshwick, received two major awards at the recent Page Awards, which recognise print and graphic excellence in Canberra.

Remarkably, of the eight printing categories that were contested by Blue Star, Blue Star won two awards itself, and printed all bar one of the remaining awards. These remaining awards were won by some of Blue Star’s close design agency clients, Qote and Cre8tive.

Blue Star PRINT ACT General Manager Sean O’Neil commented, “Blue Star PRINT ACT has a proud tradition of printing quality outputs and working closely with top design agencies. These awards are a testament to the strong relationships that Blue Star holds with the sector.”

One standout award-winning piece of work by Blue Star was the Torres Strait Regional Authority (TSRA) Annual Report, which was designed by Blue Star’s own designer, Elise Knotek. TSRA Communications Coordinator Rebecca Murphy commented, “The TSRA was absolutely thrilled to take out the gold medal for Annual Reports in the two and three colour category for the PAGE awards.”

Ms Murphy continued, “The other remarkable thing about this report was that Rebecca and Elise produced it remotely over the telephone and electronically – as Rebecca is on Thursday Island (at the top of Queensland) and Elise is based in Canberraensuring the ongoing page layouts and colour proofs were correct was no easy task…. I would like to thank BlueStar for their excellent work in the design, production and finishing of the annual report.”

Sean O’Neil ended by saying, “We are proud of the people within our organisation that make these sort of results possible and we hope to continue our proud tradition of high quality work and exceeding the expectations of our clients.”
